Hey, I’m Allysha, I’m 13 and am very outgoing. I am a yr8 student in Mr. X’s English class 09. We have a lot of fun and learn at the same time. Our main focus has been magazines. Courtney and I were in charge of the sealed section. You can find these in Girlfriend and Dolly mag’s. It was cool. The thing I mostly enjoyed about being in this class was all the games and fun we all had. Mr. X really made learning fun. <3<3<3 xxxx xoxo

This term in English, we have had Mr. Ex as our teacher, he has been great :). Recently we have been studying magazines and we have been able to make our own as a class. The subject I was given was ‘friends and body’, this has been really good because I was able to work with my friends. Yes, it was a little hard because we had to come up with things very quickly. My end result turned out good because I came up with some good advice from scratch, with a little help from my partner Allysha Mounsey. I think that this was a great experience for the class, because during this time we have started bonding with each other. It’s been a privilege to be able to have Mr. Ex as my English teacher this term, I have really enjoyed everything we have done

Hey blogger, its Matt (Year 8) here from Mr Excells yr 8 English class. I would just like to tell you what our class has done this last semester. We have been working on magazines and cover pages on the magazine page that we are making my page was on body boarding product reviews I’ve had the best time ever in Mr X’s English class he’s so nice he lets us kick the footy some times or pump some tunes on the laptop, we also have word sleuth comps I never win but its still fun. That’s why this class is the ‘kingiest’ class ever.

This term was a really awesome term in English it has been really fun having Mr Excell as a teacher, we have all learnt heaps from him and I am sure he has learnt a few things to ( good / not good ).
We have been doing a lot this term including;

- Doing lots of activities

Mr Ex’s class has been learning about magazines, their covers and what is in the magazine. We also made our own magazine as a class and everyone had to put in two pages of whatever they selected. We made a book up of word searches. We have been playing a spelling game every day. I have enjoyed this topic alot, my favourite part would have been making my two pages.

Hey blogger, it’s your pal Wes (Year 8) here. I would just like to tell you what classroom ‘G7’ have been doing over the past semester. The things we have done include studying magazines, looking at different magazines, designing our own magazines and much more.
It has been real fun especially with our home dog, Mr Excell. He is the ‘bestest’ teacher, he’s fun to be around with, very kind, smart and the thing I like about him the most is that he’s more like your friend than a teacher.
I love English and the things we do in it, I hope we do more fun things like this in the near future (:

The thing I liked in Mr Excell’s class was when we got to go and make our own two magazine pages on what we wanted to do. I chose Myspace and Top Music Charts in Australia. The number 1 was ‘I Gotta Feelin’ by The Black Eyed Peas. There’s two more I like to do. The spelling game, when 1 person goes into the middle of a circle of people and call out words to spell. Say I said say spell three, 1 person would say ‘t’ and it would just keep going around until someone gets a letter wrong or when the word is finished. And another one I liked was when we got to make some word sleuths but we could only use words out of the magazines, like the title.

This term in Mr Excell’s year 8 English class our topic is magazines. We made a magazine called ‘8OH!9’. Each person in the class made two pages each to go in the magazine I made the national sports and a jokes page. Before we made our pages we read lots of magazines to see how they are made to look in the real magazines. This term we played games and had lots of fun.

In our magazine “80h!9” we have a lot of topics our class will think you will enjoy. One of these topics is a car review of all 3 options for the new GT-HO 351. We are not giving away any of its stats but we can say you’ll be amazed. This new model is due in 2011 (possibly even in 2009) it all depends on what options they take. We will also be doing a real life interview with Bodee.

Hi I’m Jessica, so far this term my class and I have been making a magazine. I have made 2 pages, one on a Calender and the other one I shared with Mandy and we did four pages on Horoscopes. This term before we made the magazine we learnt as much on them as we could. We had little cut outs which we had to glue in our books. For the rest of this term we will be doing more things on magazines.

So far in English our class has been studying magazines, and a couple of weeks later we have been able to create our own as a class. I’ve studied music and horoscopes. I enjoyed doing this because the class reacted well and we all related with each other. It’s really interesting because you have to look at lots of magazines and its cool because most of the time we were reading magazines. I was really impressed with myself with doing the horoscopes. I’ve created 12 star sign from scratch with a little help from Jessica Salmon, and they turned out great. With my music it was easy, all I had to do was ask some people what’s their favourite artist are and I was looking up the MOST DOWNLOADED. It was great.

I cannot wait until we finally see the magazine.

Jamon B & my car review is about the 2011 GT-HO renewal. The FPV vehicle will have over 500kw of power. FPV have three options they have two FPV models and one HSV model. Personally I think the second is the best. I chose this one because the third one is a Holden and the first one doesn’t look good. I really hope you will like our review and don’t forget to feed our fish.

This term in English I have created a magazine page on book reviews and have also been responsible for recipes. The favourite page I have made is the recipes because learning new recipes is very good and I will be able to cook at home. I have chosen a book from the 'Twilight' series called ‘New Moon’ because 'Twilight' is a very popular book. I have really enjoyed working on preparing this magazine because I have had fun and been looking forward to seeing the finished product.

My name is Mykaela (Year 8). This term my whole class is making a magazine. We all get two pages to write about a topic. We got choose what we wanted to do. I had chosen movie reviews and celebrity gossip about Lady Gaga. We had been working on our magazines in the library as well and looking in other magazines so that we had an idea of what to do. We also photocopied some things out of the magazines and got stuff off the internet like pictures and any information that we got we had to put them in our own words.

I worked on the advice column with Riana. For this magazine we had to photo-copy pictures and had to write the story in our own words. We also had to do a draft. To whom it may concern,

This year I have done work on the computer and have photocopied lots of examples out of magazines. My pages were comics, puzzles, prizes and subscriptions. Between all of the pages there had to be 250 words. Writing the words was extremely hard. Bodee was working on the same pages as me. We got all the pages done but Bodee did not hand his part of it in. Thank you for listening to what I did this year.
